UCONN Targets Leo Criswell

Leo Criswell is a target of the Connecticut basketball program

Leo Criswell is pretty confident about his school list as the summer evaluation period continues to unfold.

Criswell, a versatile 6-8, 220-pound power forward from Kansas City, Kan., offered us a list of six schools just prior to participating in the Reebok ABCD Senior All-Star Game.

Criswell counted offers from Miami (FL), Oklahoma State and Marquette. He also listed North Carolina, Connecticut, and UCLA but admitted he has nothing in the form of offers from those programs.

"I've had good conversations with all of the coaches and developed good relationships with the coaches," Criswell said. "There's no one I really like a lot, but the coaches who have been on me the hardest are from Miami, Marquette, UCLA and Oklahoma State."

Criswell was one of the top performers at ABCD this week, where he averaged 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game for the Wizards squad. An agile big man with face up skills, Criswell said he expects to leave Piper H.S. in Kansas and transfer to Mt. Zion Christian Academy in North Carolina come the fall.

Criswell averaged 20 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks per game as a junior at Piper. This past spring, he took an official visit to Marquette and has unofficially looked at nearby Kansas (which is not on his list) and North Carolina.

"I am going to let things play out," he said, confidently.

Following the ABCD Camp, Criswell will play for John Walker's K.C. Rocktown program at the Reebok Summer East Classic in New Jersey, and then attend the Reebok Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas with the same club.
