Biggs Again Displays Skills at Peach Jam

The Metro Hawks dropped to 0-4 at the Peach Jam despite the play of two Connecticut prospects, rising senior Tyrell Biggs and rising junior Jonathan Mitchell.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- The Metro Hawks continued to struggle on Thursday at the Nike Peach Jam Invitational, dropping a pair of games to fall to 0-4 in Pool A play.

In the morning, the Metro Hawks lost a territorial grudge match to their geographical neighbor, the New Jersey All-Stars.

Then in the evening, the Houston Hoops ran their record to a perfect 4-0 by defeating the Hawks, 75-58.

In the loss to the All-Stars, Mount Vernon combo forward Jonathan Mitchell continued his stellar play, tallying 24 points and eight rebounds. Tyrell Biggs, the skilled 6-7 power forward from Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey, finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Against Houston, Biggs topped the Hawks with 18 points and five rebounds.

The Metro Hawks will try to avoid taking the Peach Jam equivalent of the collar when they battle the South Carolina Ravens on Friday morning.
