UCONN Target Shines At Playaz Ball

UCONN target Brandon Costner continues to show why he is a highly valued player in the 2005 class

SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY -- There were many high profile programs on hand this afternoon at Seton Hall University to watch the final of the Playaz Ball between the Playaz Gold team and the New York Ravens. Among them: Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Villanova, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's, North Carolina State, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miami, and Boston College.

The Connecticut staff is deeply involved in the recruiting process of Brandon Costner, a 6-foot-8 forward from Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey. Throughout the Playaz Ball held the last two days on the campus of Seton Hall University, Costner has shown a soft touch from the perimeter and some agile, quick moves in the low post.

Costner continues to list Connecticut among his top schools. But, as indicated by the guest list above, many high major programs continue to follow him around. Not all the schools mentioned above are recruiting Costner, but almost his entire list of programs did show up this weekend to watch him play.

The Ravens of New York City gave Costner's Playaz program a rough game. The Ravens actually held a 33-29 lead until Wayne Ellington and Gerald Henderson got going in the second half. A solid effort by Brandon Costner also helped the Playaz win the title. Costner, who had some foul trouble, managed to contribute 10 points and seven rebounds.
