Lance Thomas: "I Have Four Offers"

Lance Thomas spoke to the Insiders Report at this past weekend's Playaz Ball in South Orange, New Jersey. He mentioned four schools as having offered him

Lance Thomas, a thin, agile, 6-foot-8 small/combo forward from Scotch Plains Fanwood H.S. in Scotch Plains, N.J., told us that he has four high major offers. "Arizona, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and Connecticut have offered," Thomas said. "I am also interested in Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Syracuse, Maryland, and Florida."

Many of these schools were on hand this past weekend to watch Thomas compete at Jimmy Salmon's Playaz Ball held on the campus of Seton Hall University. New Heights was eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Playaz Gold team.

Thomas said he plans on returning to his high school next season despite his close friend, Derrick Caracter, transferring to St. Patrick. "I will miss him," Thomas said. "But I have to do what I have to do. I am just focusing on the rest of the summer."

Caracter told the Insiders Report at the Reebok ABCD camp in Teaneck, New Jersey that he wants to play college basketball with Thomas. Lance said he would love to play college basketball with Caracter but he isn't guaranteeing it.

"I am open to anybody," Thomas said. "I just want to find a place where I am comfortable with the coaches." Thomas stated he didn't have a leader in his recruiting but hoped to take some unofficial visits in August after the July evaluation period is over.
