Goodridge Lists UCONN Among Top 5

Vernon Goodridge has the Connecticut program among his top five schools right now

Vernon Goodridge, a 6-foot-9 center from New York City, was clear about his recruiting process. "I don't have a leader right now," he said. "I will think about my recruiting after I am finished in Las Vegas and Cali."

Goodridge will compete with Rick Barrett's New Jersey AAU team at events being held in Vegas and California. Goodridge is a shot-blocking center who is progressing in his offensive game. He has been working on a hook shot and his jumper.

"I really like Seton Hall, Georgetown, Connecticut, Mississippi State, and Florida State," Goodridge said. "One school isn't above any of the others. I like them all equally now."

Vernon said he isn't eliminating any schools interested in him right now. "I like other schools," he said. "But the ones I mentioned I like them a lot right now."

Goodridge also expressed interest in Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, St. John's, Syracuse, UCLA, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. "I am still open," he said today. "Once the tournaments are over I will start to think about taking some visits in the Fall. Right now I am just focusing on making myself a better player."
