Ahmad Nivins Updates List

Ahmad Nivins from St. Anthony H.S. in Jersey City, N.J. has a new offer.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Ahmad Nivins has picked up a new scholarship offer since the start of the July evaluation period.

Nivins, the developing 6-9 power forward/center from St. Anthony H.S. in Jersey City, N.J., said Thursday from the Reebok Big Time Tournament that Clemson recently tendered him a scholarship offer.

In addition to the Tigers, Nivins has standing offers from St. Joseph's, Seton Hall and Rutgers. Those offers existed prior to the start of the July evaluation period.

"I am still looking around," Nivins said after helping North Jersey Hoops to a victory over the Portland Panthers. "I am trying to sit back and see who else is interested."

"I don't plan on making a decision any time soon," he added.

Others who have expressed interest include Virginia, Miami, Rutgers, Indiana and UConn. Whether or not those programs offer could have a lot to do with Nivins' continued play over the next week.

A fine defensive and rebounding presence, Nivins' offensive game is still coming along. It has shown some improvement this summer, but he's primarily a dunker/stickback type of scorer in the low post.
