UCONN Makes Short List For 2006 Target

Taj Gibson, a 2006 target, lists the National Champions on his short list

Taj Gibson, a lanky and mobile 6-foot-8 power forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., has reclassified to the class of 2006. Gibson, who spent this past year at Stone Ridge Prep in Southern California, told the Insiders Report he will return to that school for the 2004-2005 season. "I plan on going back to the West Coast soon," he said. "I am not sure when but it could be soon."

Gibson previously mentioned possibly transferring to such schools as Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts, Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina or IMG Academy in Florida. "I plan on attending Stone Ridge," he said.

Gibson was home schooled for much of his life before enrolling for a year at Telecommunications High School in Brooklyn for the 2002-2003 school year.

Taj already has plenty of division one interest. "Connecticut, Georgetown, Oklahoma, St. John's, UCLA, Georgia, Oregon State are some of the schools I have heard from," he said. "I don't have a leader and I am still wide open."

With the reclassification of Gibson, his recruiting process has been pushed back and the urgency to recruit him has diminished for now.
