"He should have trips to Georgia Tech and Connecticut set up later this week," Corey said. "He already has a visit to North Carolina set up."
Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun and his staff have worked this recruiting process very hard. Calhoun and his assistants were mainstays at the games and events Bynum competed in during the July evaluation period. This obviously has helped the National Champs land a visit.
The UNC visit is slated for the weekend of October 15th. "Georgia, Georgetown, and Rutgers are also being considered," Corey said.
When asked if Duke had made a call into the Bynum house, Andrew's big brother (age wise) said, "Not yet. Coach K makes the first phone call. And he is away right now."
Corey said his brother is likely to consider the Blue Devils if Duke becomes serious about Andrew. So far there has been no offer from the Duke basketball program for Bynum. The other schools in the recruiting process have offered Andrew.
Bynum, just 16-years-old, is an overpowering center who is just beginning to touch on polishing his individual skills. Andrew was a key member of the New Jersey All Stars AAU program this past summer. The New Jersey All Stars won the Showcase in the Disney World complex at the Wide World of Sports in late July.
