More Challenges For UCONN With Bynum

The list continues to become even more impressive in Andrew Bynum's recruiting race

Coach K made the call tonight in his first attempt to recruit Connecticut target Andrew Bynum, a 7-footer from St. Joe's in New Jersey. Connecticut spent its entire summer watching Bynum's games.

Bynum, a big man with awesome strength and power, has many other high majors on his list. "Coach K spoke to my mother," he said. "He told him congratulations on a good summer and that he was interested in meeting him."

Duke will take an in home visit with Bynum on September 20th. Georgia, Connecticut, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina remain high on the list too. "Andrew will visit North Carolina for Midnight Madness," Corey said. "He will also visit Georgia on October 1st."

Don't count out the National Champs. Before he makes these trips, Bynum will take an unofficial visit to Connecticut on August 28th. "He doesn't have a leader," Corey said. "The trips should help him with that."

Bynum had a solid summer playing for the New Jersey All Stars. Just 16-years old, his upside is huge. He dunks everything from 3-5 feet within the rim. As his skills improve and his consistency progresses, he will someday be a very good NBA player too.
