UCONN Hoops Trying To Line Up Trips

Andrew Bynum is among a few prospects that are scheduling trips to Connecticut

There's no doubt that the Connecticut program, like several other high major basketball schools, would love to sign Andrew Bynum to a letter of intent this November. Bynum, a 7-footer who can thump in most shots around the basket, has tremendous upside to his game and is just 16-years-old.

But there is plenty of competition for Bynum, including schools like Georgia, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina. Bynum will take a visit to Georgia on October 1st and also take a trip to North Carolina for Midnight Madness.

Bynum's official visit to Connecticut is now scheduled for October 22nd, a week after the UNC trip. After Bynum, Connecticut is trying to convince Danny Green, 6-5 from St. Mary's on Long Island and <John Garcia, 6-foot-9 from Brentwood HS in NY, to take official visits the weekend of October 29th.

Green has agreed to the visit date. Garcia is currently hesitating about taking it. "I don't know if I will take it," he said. "I still have Connecticut high on my list. But I am going to take a visit first to Villanova this Saturday."

Garcia could also re-visit St. John's. "I don't have a date for that yet," he said.
