UCONN In Home Today With Marcus Johnson

Marcus Johnson is a high priority for the Connecticut basketball program

Los Angeles swingman Marcus Johnson is being shown plenty of love today in his recruiting process. The 6-foot-6 athletic jumping jack from Westchester High School in Los Angeles, California is expected to have an in home visit with Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun later this evening.

Johnson also had a contact visit today with Syracuse University, a school fighting neck and neck with the Connecticut program. In addition, Johnson, who competed this past summer at the Reebok ABCD camp in early July at FDU, will take an official visit to Louisville this upcoming weekend.

Connecticut has a visit scheduled with Johnson next weekend after Marcus takes his visit to Louisville. Johnson is friends with Amir Johnson and Andre McGee, two Louisville prospects. So the battle to land Johnson will be a difficult one.

In addition, Syracuse has scheduled a visit with Johnson for the weekend of October 8th. The Orange play Florida State before a full house. The Orange have already utilized one contact visit today, the first day of the contact period for college coaches.
