UConn Prospect Picks Other Big East School

John Garcia is headed to a Big East rival.

John Garcia, a 6-foot-9 center/power forward from Brentwood High School in New York, ended his recruiting process this afternoon. Garcia, who sat down with his parents and his high school coach, Anthony Jimenez, recently had an in home visit with Seton Hall head coach Louis Orr. Apparently, the in school/in home visit worked out well.

Sources tell us that Garcia made a verbal commitment to Seton Hall today. He also considered Pittsburgh, Connecticut, St. John's, and Villanova. He had unofficially visited all five schools in his recruiting process. Garcia had also planned on visiting Pittsburgh this upcoming weekend with Danny Green. He has cancelled his visit.

Garcia is one of the most productive players on the high school level. He possesses a soft touch around the basket and is a solid rebounder and shot-blocking big man.
