UCONN In Home Works Out Well

Andrew Bynum had an in home visit with Connecticut this evening

Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun and assistant coach Tom Moore spent some time this evening with 7-foot center Andrew Bynum of St. Joe's in New Jersey. Bynum, who will turn 17-years old next month, has already had in home visits with Georgia Tech and Georgia.

"All of the in home visits went well," said Bynum's brother Corey. "Coach Calhoun spoke to Andrew about the team and the school. Connecticut just got a great athlete from Los Angeles (Marcus Johnson) and coach Calhoun was pretty excited. It was a good in home visit."

North Carolina is scheduled to take an in home this Thursday, according to Corey. "Andrew will visit Georgia on October 1st, Georgia Tech on October 3rd, North Carolina on October 15th and Connecticut on October 22nd. And Rutgers is still being considered."

Corey said that Rutgers head coach Gary Waters is in contact with his family. "My mom speaks to him every week," Corey said.

Corey also said any speculation of it being a race between Connecticut and North Carolina wasn't true. "Georgia is a great place for African-Americans," he said. "So Georgia and Georgia Tech are seriously being considered.

"And Andrew has his best relationship right now with Coach Felton (Georgia). So Andrew is open to all the schools on his list. It's going to be a very tough decision for him."
