Antonio Pena Has Short List Of Schools

Antonio Pena is now at St. Thomas More and has been reclassified to class of 2006

The University of Connecticut is one of a few schools that Antonio Pena mentioned as being of interest in a recent interview with the Insiders Report. Pena, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound forward, played recently at IS8 for the New York City Gauchos in the Fall League in Queens, New York.

"I like it there (St. Thomas More)," Pena said. "It's been good so far there."

Pena, who had 22 points in a victory this week at IS8, can be a dominant player inside. He has the agility to dart to the basket. Pena also has the smarts to move when the ball is on the other side of the court.

Now a member of the 2006 class, Pena's recruiting slowed down a bit. However, many high majors are tracking him right now as his recruiting becomes more focused over the next year.

"I am wide open," Pena said. "But some of the schools I like are Syracuse, Connecticut, St. John's and North Carolina State. Most of the Big East schools have been recruiting me."

Pena said he will take his time in his recruiting process. "I am just focusing on this year," he said. "Eventually I will think about it more."
