A.J. Price Remains In Critical Condition

The Associated Press reports that UConn freshman A.J. Price remains in critical condition in Hartford Hospital Thursday, two days after he was admitted with an undisclosed, non-contagious illness. Coach Jim Calhoun has issued a statement.

"Let me first thank everyone for all of the support and well wishes that they have passed along for A.J. Price and his family as they continue to deal with this very serious situation.

"As you can all imagine, this is a time of remarkable uncertainty for the Price Family and for everyone associated with UConn and the incredible show of support has been uplifting.

"It is with that in mind that I stress that the only concern for the immediate future should be for A.J. and to hope for his complete recovery.

"I can appreciate the need for information that people and members of the media have in this situation, as the Hartford Hospital spokesperson has stated, A.J. is not contagious and does not pose a public health concern. We continue to ask that the privacy of the Price family be respected. We appreciate your understanding and continued support."
