Bynum Ready To Sign The Letter

Connecticut recruit Andrew Bynum is likely to sign his letter of intent in the next 24 hours

It's a matter of time before Andrew Bynum, the 7-foot center from St. Joe's in New Jersey, makes it official for the National Champs. Bynum, who chose Connecticut over schools like Georgia, North Carolina, Georgetown, Rutgers, and Georgia Tech last month, is ready to sign his letter of intent.

"We got the letter today," said Andrew's brother, Corey. "There are some things to fill out and sign. But he should have it done by tomorrow."

Bynum, who helped lead the New Jersey All Stars to a Showcase title in late July in Orlando, Florida, is a player that has huge upside to his game. Andrew is just 17 years old and his best days are ahead of him.

It's likely the NBA scouts will be circling Bynum over the winter and in the spring. However, the success that Emeka Okafor had at Connecticut will certainly be a plus for the National Champs in convincing Bynum that his value can only go up by playing for Jim Calhoun.

The Bynum family has only said that Andrew is focused on his high school season and then will concentrate on his career at Connecticut. Officially, his connection to Calhoun and the tremendous program he has built will begin tomorrow.
