STORRS, CONNECTICUT (November 18, 2004)-- The following is a listing of the University of Connecticut Men's Basketball Letter of Intent Signees, as of Thursday, November 18, 2004, including key statistics and comments from Head Basketball Coach Jim Calhoun.

6-6, 225 Forward
Brookline, MA Brookline HS/Brewster (NH) Academy

A consensus Top 50 recruit and among the elite fifth year players in the country this season... Averaged 27 points and 14 rebounds as a senior at Brookline HS.

Coach Calhoun on Jeff Adrien

"Jeff is a player with tremendous toughness and athleticism. He is a relentless competitor who reminds me of a Kevin Freeman or Donny Marshall-type, with the ability to play inside and the potential to eventually play from the perimeter. He comes off an outstanding summer and had a standout high school career for coach Mark Fiedor at Brookline. He will really benefit from a fifth year at nationally-renowned Brewster Academy under coach Jason Smith."

7-0, 295 Center
Metuchen, NJ St. Joseph's HS

A consensus Top 25 national recruit and the nation's top high school center... Averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks as a junior at St. Joseph's.

Coach Calhoun on Andrew Bynum

"Andrew is the best pure high school center in the country and has tremendous size, soft hands and a nice scoring touch. We expect him to be an immediate inside physical presence. He had a terrific summer, gaining valuable experience and confidence. He is a young senior, having just turned 17, and his potential is limitless. Coach Mark Taylor has been instrumental in his development and has put together a challenging schedule for Andrew's senior year."

6-6, 195 Forward/Guard
Los Angeles, CA Westchester HS

A consensus Top 50 national recruit... Averaged 19.8 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior at Westchester.

Coach Calhoun on Marcus Johnson

"Marcus has the potential to be another in the long line of outstanding wing players we have had here at Connecticut. An explosive athlete, he brings great size and quickness to the position and has the makings of becoming a great perimeter defender. He is also a proven winner, playing under coach Ed Azzam for the nation's No. 1-ranked high school program at Westchester."
