Robert Garrison Commits

According to sources, Robert Garrison has committed to play basketball for the UConn Huskies. Garrison becomes a late addition to the Huskies 2005 recruiting class.

Robert Garrision, a 6'1" point guard from Niagara Falls, had considered offers from Dayton, Boston University, Richmond and others before deciding to take a post-graduate year at Phillips Exeter (N.H.) Academy to raise his profile.

Garrison had impressed with his play on the summer circuit and had drawn interest from UConn and Providence as a late 2005 addition as both schools sought to shore up uncertain backcourt situations. Georgia Tech, Rhode Island and others had expressed interest in Garrison as a potential recruit in 2006.

At the Summer East Classic in Teaneck last week, Garrison scored 19 points to lead the GC Ballers to the tournament title over the New England Playaz.

Earlier in the year, along with top prospects Paul Harris and Jonathon Flynn, Garrison lead his Niagara Falls High team to the 2005 New York State Federation title.

Garrison is fully qualified and is eligible in 2005.
