Georgia Wide-Receiver Jeffers Sports UConn Offer

Georgia is not totally foreign soil to the Connecticut Huskies as several players call the "Peach State" home. Georgia has become fertile ground over the past few years for blue Chip recruits and the Huskies are dipping into that talent pool.

A month ago the Huskies offered Lilburn (Ga.) Berkmar wide receiver Terence Jeffers (6-2, 195, 4.48) a proactive approach by Berkmar head coach Wendell Early led to the offer.

"My coach sent them film and they liked it, so they offered," Jeffers said.

Jeffers is being recruited by Connecticut wide receivers coach Vinny Marino. "I'm definitely interested in Connecticut, but I also want to see who else offers me," he said.

This summer Jeffers camped at Auburn, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, and Georgia.

Auburn: "I did well there, but I haven't heard from them. That was a little surprising."

Vanderbilt: "I did well, I ran a (4.43) there. They offered me about a week after the camp."

Wake Forest: "It was ok, they had a lot of young kids there so it was hard to get a good look."

Georgia: "It went really well. "I did very well in the one-on-ones. I went against Marcus Ball a lot."

Berkmar is (3-0) on the young season, Jeffers has played a large role intheir success as he has caught 15 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns.

He has almost eclipsed the stats he put up as a junior 23 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns. He earned honorable mention All-County honors after last season.

Since the NCAA contact period opened up on September 1, Jeffers has fielded calls from Connecticut, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, Miami (Ohio.), Central Michigan, and Illinois State.
