Hamady N'diaye Lands at Stone Prep

Hamady N'diaye has switched coasts, but major college programs are having little trouble finding the 6-10 center/power forward who hails from Senegal

Last year, N'diaye cut his teeth at Life Center Academy in Burlington, N.J. This fall, he's under the tutelage of Head Coach Babacar Sy at Stone Ridge Prep in Simi Valley, Calif.

N'diaye, an active 230-pounder, runs the floor, rebounds and blocks shots. But his offensive game is far from polished.

"He's a big energy guy who brings a lot of things to the table defensively and rebounding," Sy said. "Hamady has to make a lot of strides this year with his offensive game, and we're hoping to help him establish some good low post moves that he can use them in college."

N'diaye has only played two years of organized basketball prior to enrolling at Stone Ridge, and Sy thinks his upside is significant. "He is the type of kid that will get better for sure," he said.

Among the programs courting N'diaye aggressively include Pittsburgh, George Washington, Southern Cal, Connecticut, Wake Forest, Rutgers and Baylor. Sy said most of those programs have offered.

"He's going to draw more and more interest because he's the type of guy who gives 100 percent on the court," Sy said.
