Robert Vaughn Impressed with UConn

Earlier this year, North Attleboro defensive Robert Vaughn was thrilled when he received a UConn scholarship offer through assistant coach Lyndon Johnson. Now, the 6'1", 195-pound standout may be on the verge of a decision.

"Lyndon Johnson told me that they had a recruiting meeting and that the whole staff liked my tape," Vaughn said. "They said they put the tape on Coach Edsall's desk and he approved the offer. They said they plan on taking three defensive backs this year."

If the Huskies were in the lead for Robert Vaughn prior to his official visit, the trip certainly cemented their status at the top of his wishlist.

"I got there Saturday morning and it went great," Vaughn said. "The new facilities are going to be amazing, the coaches answered all of my questions, and all of the people there were great. When I left I told Coach (Randy) Edsall it was a Ten."

A decison could be coming soon for Vaughn.

"I may decide by the end of the week. I'm trying to line up something with iowa to take a visit there -- I'll call them tomorrow."

North Attleboro finished the season (9-1) thanks in large part to Vaughn who scored 17 total touchdowns and had more then 850 yards rushing. he returned two punts for scores and a kickoff.

On defense, he had 25 tackles and an interception. he earned league Offensive MVP honors, and was named All-League by the Sun-Chronicle and he earned All-Scholastic honors from the Boston Globe.
