Moore Commitment Confirmed

Sio Moore played his football in North Carolina for Apex High School for the last two seasons, however the fullback/linebacker will be moving back to West Haven, Conn., this year and finishing his high school career with West Haven High School. Word had hit the street lately the he had committed to Connecticut and confirmed that this afternoon.

Sio Moore starred at fullback, bulldozing over competition for Apex High School last season, but the 6-foot-2, 215-pound athlete probably projects best to the outside linebacker position at the collegiate level. Moore gave his verbal commitment to the Connecticut coaching staff this weekend according to West Haven Athletic Director Jon Capone and will be enrolling in classes at the high school this fall.

"Sio and his mother were in school to pick up the transfer paperwork today and to get the registration process started," Capone stated. "I actually spoke with Randy Edsall today and went over Sio's transcripts with him over the phone. Sio said his sister was a Connecticut graduate, so that could have played a role in why he chose them. He has not been up here for a few years, so I have not seen him play personally, but apparently the Connecticut staff must have liked what they saw of him."

Stay tuned for more information on Moore's commitment as we at wait to get his contact information over the next 24 hours.
