Kambala goes undrafted after scoring 17 points and grabbling 9 rebounds per game his senior year. Pro scouts seem unimpressed that Kas didn't improve much from his freshman year to his senior year. Most scouts are in agreement with statements about his great strength and his unstoppable hook shot. However, everyone seemed to notice his lack of jumpshot, slowness in his lateral movement, and horrible hands.
Thus, when the NBA Draft ended, the native Latvian's name was not called. He did end up on the Memphis Grizzlies summer league team, but hasn't played well thus far and will likely end up signing a good contract to play overseas somewhere.
Kas just never really showed the desired to improve his game, nor the desire to dominate like a player with his size should. For a career that started so promising, it really is a sad deal.
