Lancaster DB Still Looking

Talented three-star defensive back Dakota Austin is still looking for the right spot to play in college...

Dakota Austin, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound cornerback from Lancaster (Texas) High is generating a lot of interest, but so far he is putting the focus on his senior season.

"Not yet," answered Austin when asked if he has set up any of his five official visit stops, whose team has played mostly all of its games on Friday nights.

Lancaster is off to a 7-0 start and many consider the Tigers to be the team to beat in Class 4A.

The defense has limited its opponents to just over 14 points per game.

Personally Austin feels like he has continued to elevate his game each and every week. He is playing at his best as a senior.

"I've been pretty good so far," Austin said of his play. "I'm only getting better though and I've gotten 100 times stronger."

On the recruiting front, Austin has plenty of schools showing him interest and is up to half a dozen scholarship offers.

"Oklahoma, Kansas State, Tulsa, Indiana and Oklahoma State," replied Austin in answer to what schools are recruiting him the hardest.

"(I have) offers from Texas Tech, Indiana, New Mexico, UTEP, Utah State and UNLV."
