"I wasn't happy at all with how I played this past summer," Wright said. "I went into the summer wanting to show how hard I worked and unfortunately it didn't work out."
Wright has used his disappointing summer play as motivation to improve his game.
"That summer will bother me for a while," Wright said. "But since then, I've hit practice and training as hard as possible. I've been working on everything like my ball handling, shooting and perimeter quickness.
"Motivation hasn't been a problem. I'm working hard when no one is looking."
This coming season will be very important for 6-foot-4, 175-pound four-star's future.
"I just want to show everyone that I'm back," Wright said. "We have big goals as a team. We want to win every game and take State.
"I don't have any individual goals at all. I just want to play hard and everything will look up."
Wright has plenty of schools recruiting him, but says that there is nothing really new in his recruitment.
"There's not a ton going on right now," Wright said. "I'm hearing from a lot of west coast schools and some others. I don't want to name them all because I don't want to leave anyone off."
Arizona is one of those west coast schools recruiting Wright.
"I've heard from them for awhile," Wright said. "They're trying to get me down there for a visit and I would like to get down there. Arizona has a good reputation and has turned out good players, so naturally I'm interested."
Wright expects to narrow down his list after the season.
"I'm still looking at everyone," Wright said. "I want to see how this year plays out, see who's really interested, and then I will narrow my list down from there."
