Battle for the Cannon: First Quarter

ITR's Quarterly Breakdown of the Battle for the Fremont Cannon

The Cannon has red paint on it and UNLV is looking to keep it that way. The Rebels haven't been able to keep the country's most expensive football trophy in southern Nevada for consecutive years since Jon Robinson won 5 straight when he was the head coach in the late 1990's.

In the first quarter, UNR was able to run the ball at will. Their O-Line was dominant racking up 80 yards rushing and driving the ball down the field with ease.

The Pack came in allowing 308 yds per game on the ground, but they put up a brick wall on UNLV and stuffed the Rebels potent rushing attack. UNLV only posted 7 yds on the ground and went 3 and out on every possession.

So far UNR leads 10-0
