Aztec's Come to Life Behind 3 Interceptions

SDSU Secondary Feasts on Ward INT's

The SDSU defense started the 2nd half with a huge interception. They drove, but SDSU QB Christian Chapman missed a wide open TE streaking down the middle of the field and their drive stalled out. Cougars force the punt.

Pinned deep in their own territory, Greg Ward and the Houston offense went back to work. They finally opened up the playbook and they dink and dunked their way down the field. They used intermediate passes and the spread option attack to methodically move the ball into the SDSU side of the field. The Aztec's were able to adjust on the fly however and they once again bated Ward into the interception. Their 24th of the season.

The Aztec's took over and stubbed their toe with a penalty right away. They got themselves out of their self inflicted hole by opening up the passing game. Pumphrey was the star of the drive by first making a spinning, one handed catch on the sideline and then on the next play breaking for a 32 yard touchdown scamper right up the heart of the Houston defense.

Ward and the Cougar's picked right back up where they left off on their three prior drives, by tossing yet another interception. This time it was a pick 6 as the stellar SDSU defensive backfield took it right to the house.
