Recruiting: 6-5 HS Swingman has UNLV on his list

This kid is averaging 22 points a game as a junior, and had equally amazing numbers as a sophomore...check him out!

6-5, 205 junior forward swingman Wendell White, from Redondo Union H.S. (CA), played awesome at the Slam Dunk to the Beach in Lewes, Delaware.

White helped Redondo Union to a sixth place finish at the Slam Dunk. Due to his good frame, White is a reliable finisher around the basket and in transition, and sports a reliable midrange perimeter game. He's also a pretty good passer.

White told the Insiders Report/ that he has seen interest from many colleges this winter, including Arizona, California, UCLA, Oregon, Southern California, Duke, North Carolina, St. Louis, Tennessee and UNLV.

White said he really has not taken a lot of unofficial visits, but he has had the chance to speak with both USC Head Coach Henry Bibby and UCLA Coach Steve Lavin. White averages 22 points per game this season for Redondo Union. As a sophomore last season, he averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block per game.

White said he has a 2.8 GPA but will not take the SAT for the first time until March. Last spring, White burst onto the national scene with the California Team Select program. He said he has been invited to both the Nike and adidas ABCD Camps this summer, but is not sure what his summer plans will be.
