Instead, the first team will take on the second unit.
So who will be quarterbacking the first team?
"(Travis) Dixon and Omar (Clayton) will share it," UNLV head coach Mike Sanford said.
Redshirt freshman Mike Clausen and senior Dack Ishii will guide the second team.
In the past the two teams were drafted separately to try and balance things out. But Sanford decided to nix that format this year.
"I think it's best for our football team that the first team offense and defense get the experience of playing together," Sanford said.
The annual event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to approximately 7:30 and is free to the public. Fans are also invited to bring their pens and meet the team on the field afterward for autographs.
A post-game barbecue dinner, catered by Memphis Barbecue, will also be available afterward in the Club Seats level. The prices for that are $15 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under and also for UNLV students with a valid I.D.
