Willis: I think Jasper will be a Rebel

There were three TV stations and three newspaper reporters on hand for Saturday afternoon's Runnin' Rebel basketball practice at Cox Pavilion. But the man they came to interview – Kentucky transfer Derrick Jasper – declined to be interviewed during his official on campus recruiting trip.

However, Jasper smiled when asked about any future trips and hinted he may be finished taking recruiting trip before leaving the gym. His close friend and former AAU teammate, point guard Tre'Von Willis, seemed optimistic that he will be playing again with Jasper. "He told me that he wants to play together again,' Willis said. "We are going to see how this thing unfolds. I really think he's going to be a Rebel and be apart of what we are going to do here. I told the coaches it's my job to get it done." Arizona is believed to be UNLV's top competition for the 6-7 Jasper. "He actually told me he was going to take a trip to Arizona," Willis said. "I told him I don't think we need to do that … go ahead and cancel everything and tell the coaches you want to come and sign on that dotted line." So does Willis think it is down to UNLV or Arizona? "Right now I think its UNLV or UNLV," Willis said with a smile.
