Turene Opens Up Recruitment

Look inside for the latest on three-star linebacker Kent Turene.

Three-star linebacker Kent Turene committed to USC back in July, and since that time there have been a lot of questions about whether he would ever actually end up a Trojan, and today Turene has officially de-committed.

The 6-3, 225-pound recruit, who visited USC earlier this month, decided to reopen his recruitment after taking official visits to Nebraska, Texas Tech and Georgia.

"Yeah it's true," Turene responded when asked if he had de-committed. "Nobody is leading right now, I'm just making sure that I am doing the right thing for me."

Turene said he will make his college choice during an announcement ceremony at Boyd H. Anderson High School on Signing Day, with USC, Texas Tech, Georgia and Nebraska still under consideration.

So what is he looking for in a school?

"Early playing time, education, and I want to sign with a place that's comfortable to me and I can be successful for the next four years," he said.
