Nike Camp profile on LB Keith Rivers

As always, there was a ton of talent at the Nike Camp in Miami (Fla.) this past weekend but still, one player stood head and shoulders above the rest of the group. That was Keith Rivers, a 6-3, 220 pound linebacker from Lake Mary (Fla.).

Rivers has been the only slam dunk Nike Camp MVP choice for us after three stops on the tour. He has great size and tested very well running a 4.56 in the 40, 4.18 in the 40, jumped 34 inches in the vertical and did 21 reps on the bench.

The athlete was even more impressive in the one on one drills where he showed as good of closing speed as any linebacker we've seen in the country this year. Rivers' ability to break on the ball is off the charts and if some of the drills were contact rather than non-contact, he probably would have put a couple of players in the hospital.

Rivers is much more than just a workout guy as he earned Student Sports Junior All-American honors last season after totaling 160 tackles, four quarterback sacks and two picks.

On the recruiting front, Rivers told us after the camp he's leaning solidly to a school on the other side of the country.

"USC is my top school right now," Rivers said. "I was born in Southern CA and lived in Riverside for seven years. I moved to Florida in the 5th grade but USC was always my school. I also like Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Notre Dame. All but Notre Dame have offered.

"I'll be camping at USC over the summer so I can check out the campus and see what the school is all about. I'm not sure about the rest of the my summer plans but I know I want to take some of my trips before I make my final decision."
