Extra Points: Takeaways from Wednesday

Some extra observations, sights and notes after Wednesday's two-a-day at Howard Jones Field.

First, the morning began with walkthroughs, where the position coaches and associating players worked in groups doing specific drills. After about an hour and a half, the Trojans worked on their two-minute offense, with Barkley under center.

Second, in the two-minute drill the Trojans completed six straight plays, with receiver Brandon Carswell scoring the touchdown on a short pass in the slot. USC went for two instead of a field goal, and converted on the play.

Third, Kyle Negrete and Andre Heidari were kicking very well. Heidari made a lot of field goals, a few 45-yards, one that was 47-yards and he was just short on a 55-yard kick.

Fourth, the offensive line in the two-minuted consisted of Matt Kalil, Martin Coleman, Khaled Holmes, John Martinez and Kevin Graf from left to right. Interesting to note there were no freshmen on that line, as Walker suffered a minor hip injury earlier that morning.

Fifth, the receivers that looked to be getting the most playing time yesterday were Robert Woods, Brandon Carswell, Brice Butler and Kyle Prater.
