WeAreSC.com has confirmed a USC scholarship offer to Anthony Vernaglia (6'4", 218 pounds, 4.5 forty) from Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, California. Vernaglia has also been offered by UCLA, Penn State, and Virginia. Additionally, he will be visiting Notre Dame on June 26th and should receive an offer from the Domers at that time. Anthony will likely make his college choice from one of these five schools.

There is a lot of support and wisdom for his college choice from his family. His father Kip played wide receiver at Penn State in the 70's, and his Uncle Mark and Nephew Jake have also been significant contributors.

In regards to his thoughts on the USC offer, Vernaglia mentioned the following;" I'm stoked, totally fired-up. It was so great to hear, it's awesome! Coach Carroll told me I earned it. I really like the coaches at USC. Now I'm all messed up (with college favorite). I was favoring the east coast before, now I will have to decide which coast to play on." Anthony is being recruited by SC as an athlete. He has the potential to end up at wide receiver, outside linebacker, and/or strong safety. He compares his style of play on defense to John Lynch, and on offense to Joe Jurevicius, both of the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kennedy Pola is handling Vernaglia's recruitment for USC. Anthony is already qualified with a 4.01 GPA and a 1200 SAT. He will major in Pre-Med in college.
