Pre-Spring Injury Update

Various USC players have suffered either season-ending injuries or undergone post-season surgery to repair an injury. Find out where some of these players stand in the rehabilitation process.

Since the season finished, various USC players have had surgery or are rehabilitating injuries from the season and preseason. Here's a quick injury update on a few players that came down with notable injuries.

DeVante Wilson: Wilson, currently an early enrollee after greyshirting the fall, came down with a major injury last year. He had open knee surgery in August. Since that time, the rehabilitation process has taken a little while with Wilson telling SCPlaybook that he is still not cleared for contact. He said he will likely miss spring ball but expects to be ready for the fall.

Torin Harris: Harris, USC's starting cornerback for the Trojans' first four games, but was sidelined with a shoulder injury for the majority of the 2011 season. Head coach Lane Kiffin said it was a nerve issue during the fall, more specifically that there was a problem regrowing the nerves in his left shoulder. As of Monday, Harris said he still has an issue with the shoulder and has yet to be cleared by team doctors.

Robert Woods: Woods underwent ankle surgery in December, a couple weeks after the Trojans' final game of 2011. While he still attends the team's voluntary throwing sessions, Woods has not yet been cleared for contact. He just began running on a special machine last week and said he should be allowed to run normally this week.

Junior Pomee: Pomee, who suffered a season-ending foot injury during a preseason scrimmage, will likely play spring ball in 2012. Pomee was cleared about a month ago and said he is excited to be in the mix with his team again.

Patrick Hall: While Kiffin said Hall is no longer with the team, Hall said he is working towards being back and hopes he can regain full health by the summertime as well as improve his grades. Hall tore his ACL in his left knee in June of 2011.

Anthony Brown: Since breaking his left ankle during the 2011 season, Brown has underwent rehab and physical therapy for about half the regular season and has still yet to be cleared. He hopes, however, that team doctors clear him by next week and said it's likely he'll be ready to play during spring ball.
