Hazelton Named USC Linebackers Coach

North Dakota State's Scottie Hazelton will become USC's newest linebackers coach, according to multiple media outlets.

North Dakota State's Scottie Hazelton will become USC's newest linebackers coach, according to FootballScoop.

Just nine days after the departure of Joe Barry to the NFL, the media outlet reported that USC has filled the position with Hazelton.

Hazelton was defensive coordinator at FCS (Division I-AA) school North Dakota State before joining the Trojans. He has been a defensive coach for a variety of positions at a variety of programs. Previously in his career he was the Bison's defensive line coach, the linebackers coach at Michigan Tech and the defensive backs coach at St. Olaf College.

The only obvious USC tie is Hazelton's close ties to Casey Bradley, defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.

Hazelton's only son is named "Bode West." Quite fitting as his entire family will soon, too.
