Dawkins to Attend USC Skills Camp

2014 quarterback Brandon Dawkins played at Dana Hills Air Strike 7 on 7 Saturday. On Sunday, he'll head to USC for the Trojans' skills camp.

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian quarterback Brandon Dawkins will participate at USC's skills camp for the third straight year on Sunday.

"I'm really interested in that school," explained Dawkins at Dana Hills Air Strike on Saturday. "It's obviously a big time school. I'm just going to try and go out there and do my best to impress the coaches."

The 2014 prospect is proud to have received his first scholarship offer two weeks ago from Notre Dame, but says he'd also like to hear from the Pac-12 and SEC.

"I don't really have any favorites right now," said Dawkins. "I just want to go to a big school and be able to compete."

At 6'3" and 210 lbs. Dawkins knows his size carries major upside and he thinks he has the arm to match the body.

"I have a strong arm," he explained. "I can throw it accurately and I can put the ball where it needs to be."

Accuracy is an aspect of his game Dawkins is anxious to prove at USC on Sunday, since receiving wavering reviews after a previous 7 on 7 tournament.

"Going through the whole tournament you get a little bit tired," he explained, "I was missing a couple routes out there and I got a write up about it and it ended up not being a very good. I just want to prove them wrong and show them something different."

Dawkins will also show improved footwork.

After running a spread offense last season at Oaks Christian, he has spent much of the spring learning the correct footwork to play under center.

"We're going to be doing a lot of that this year," Dawkins said. "I'm going to be getting ready for that."

This will be Dawkins second unofficial visit to USC within months.
