Lockett Will Camp in LA This Summer

The Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive back turned heads at Dana Hills Air Strike. Next, he'll look to turn a few more when he attends summer camp at USC and UCLA.

National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins says 2014 is "shaping up to be quite a year for corners out west."

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive back Jonathan Lockett is not only keeping up with the trend, he's setting it.

"Lockett has all the tools you're looking for in a quality corner," Biggins said. "(He has) size, speed, quickness, and ball skills. No one has offered yet, but he has the talent to be a national prospect."

Although he has no offers to date, Lockett knows it is only a matter of time.

He is currently communicating with USC, UCLA, California, Washington, and Oregon.

Still far too early in the process to claim favorites, Lockett did say he grew up in Long Beach watching the Trojans and would like to stay in the Pac-12.

"They (USC) are one of my favorite schools and it would be a blessing to get a scholarship from them," he said.

Lockett will be attending the Trojans' Rising Stars camp at the end of June.

"I plan to work on my one-on-one's and stand out, and when I work on my defensive drills, go hard and work on my quick feet."

Lockett also plans to attend UCLA's elite camp.
