LaRue is the latest to "Fight On!"

The 2013 commitments continue to stream in to the USC coaching staff. Four-star receiver Sebastian LaRue is the latest to verbally commit to the Trojans.

Santa Monica (Calif.) receiver Sebastian LaRue received an offer from USC on June 11th after a strong showing at the Trojans' skills camp.

Less than two weeks later, LaRue gave his verbal commitment to go back to Troy for the next four years.

"When I got the offer I wanted to weigh it out as I did all the other schools," LaRue said. "When I started weighing out the other schools versus USC, USC just came out on top, they're a top notch program."

Growing up in Los Angeles, the Trojans naturally are a good fit.

"Playing in the Coliseum in front of my friends and family and my grandmother can see my games because it's local and I can still be there for my little brother," explained LaRue on why decided to stay close to home.

"My Santa Monica high school coaches those are guys I've been with probably 90% of my life and me going to USC I can still be around those guys the majority of my life and that's really important to me."

Also important to LaRue is the opportunity to compete.

The four-star recruit is the 13th ranked receiver in the nation who doubles as a cornerback.

"Right now as far as I know they (USC) want me as a receiver," he explained, "that's what I'm going to go in and play but whatever they want me to play and whatever they feel I can be more successful at that's what I'm going to play."

LaRue is the third 2013 receiver to commit to USC joining Eldridge Massington and Steven Mitchell, but says he's not afraid of a little competition.

"If you go to USC you're going to compete everyday in practice and in games, with other guys being committed at receiver, that's not a problem for me because I'm not afraid to compete. I look at it as an opportunity to get better."

LaRue is undecided if he will still take other official visits, for now only saying "I'm a Trojan and I'm proud to be one."

He has received and invitation and plans to attend The Opening in July.
