Cinderella story leads to Hollywood

USC officially announces via its Twitter account the hiring of Andy Enfield. Enfield led his No. 15 seeded Florida Gulf Coast team to the Sweet 16 of this year's NCAA Tournament before losing to No. 3 Florida.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — USC announced late Monday evening via its Twitter account the hiring of Andy Enfield as the Trojans new head basketball coach.

Enfield comes to USC from Florida Gulf Coast University, where he just led his No. 15 seeded Eagles to the Sweet 16 -- the first time in tournament history a No. 15 seed has made it to the round of 16.

FGCU upset No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 7 seed San Diego State in the first two rounds before being eliminated by No. 3 Florida.

The Eagles became the Cinderella story of the tournament and earned Fort Myers, Fla., the nickname "Dunk City" with their uptempo and above-the-rim play.

Enfield, 43, spent the past two season as the head coach at Florida Gulf Coast. Prior to coaching at FGCU, Enfield spent time as a Florida State and NBA assistant.
