Enfield reaches out to Dukes

USC's new basketball coach is making contact with the Trojans 2013 recruiting class...

USC 2013 commit Kahlil Dukes was as enthusiastic as any Trojan about the hiring of Florida Gulf Coast coach Andy Enfield as the new head guy at 'SC.

"Thrilled!" said Dukes via text message after news broke of the hire Monday evening. "If I could meet with him to workout in the Galen Center tonight, I would. Very excited and blessed to be a part of this new and exciting beginning."

It didn't take long for the Hartford (Conn.) Capital Prep Magnet standout to hear from his new head coach.

Enfield called Dukes late Wednesday evening.

Dukes said via text that Enfield "Probably knows more about me than I know about him because he's seen me play during AAU." He continued to say that Enfield "thinks I fit perfectly in the system and he's is excited about have me a part of building a new atmosphere at USC."

Dukes plans on coming to USC a few weeks after his high school graduation.

He is a Scout.com three-star point guard.
