"It's just my time to chase my dream and go to the NBA," Dedmon said in a statement released by the university. "I had a great time at USC and it was a good experience."
Dedmon played two seasons for the Trojans after transferring from Antelope College.
Dedmon averaged over 6 points and 7 rebounds in his 31 appearances for the Trojans this season.
He did not travel to USC's only game in the Pac-12 Tournament, a loss to Utah, due to an ongoing investigation into an incident he was allegedly involved in after the Trojans final regular season game in Spokane (Wash.).
"I had some ups and downs and learned a lot and believe it is best for me to turn professional at this time," Dedmon said.
I wish USC, Andy Enfield and all my teammates all the best moving forward. Andy is a good guy and I believe he will do great things here."
