Lazarus visits Southern California

FOX Sports NEXT caught up with 2014 Berkeley (Calif.) linebacker Michael Lazarus in Southern California at Passing Down's 7on7 Best of the West tournament. Lazarus took unofficial visits to USC and UCLA over the weekend.

Berkeley (Calif.) linebacker Michael Lazarus was in Southern California over the weekend with his TMP 7on7 teammates to play in Passing Down's 7on7 Best of the West tournament.

The team made a weekend of it in Los Angeles visiting USC on Saturday before making their way to the Rose Bowl for UCLA's spring game.

The 6-foor-2 215 pound said the unofficial visit to USC "was fun."

I got to meet with all of the coaches, tour the facility… and meet the players."

Lazarus met with the Trojans' linebacker coach Mike Ekeler to break down film and "see what they're all about."

USC hasn't offered the four-star recruit but he's confident one could be coming. The Trojans will be at Lazarus' school in May to evaluate him as a prospect.

The second half of the day spent at the Rose Bowl watching UCLA's spring game was "exciting" for Lazarus. "Seeing all the fans and the excitement inside the Bowl was good, it was fun," he said.

The Bruins haven't offered him, but he says he's in constant communication with them.

Lazarus' two offers to date are from California and Washington State. He says he's still talking with both schools and "everything is good".

He would like to hear from more SEC and Big Ten schools as well.

This summer Lazarus is hoping to visit Oregon, Washington, and Arizona State.
