Lockett heads to USC camp

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive back Jonathan Lockett is still talking to USC, despite no official offer on the table. Lockett plans to attend the Trojans camp on Sunday in hopes of finally picking one up.

Jonathan Lockett and the rest of the Mater Dei Monarchs showed off their game at the Dana Hills Air Strike in Southern California on Saturday.

The defensive back boasts a list chockfull of Pac-12 schools, but one local college has yet to extend an offer.

"I have offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Notre Dame, San Jose State and Washington," said Lockett.

The Pac-12 school missing from Lockett's list is USC, a school that could be close to giving him an offer, as Lockett says he is still talking with the Trojans.

"They told me to come to the camp Sunday," said Lockett, who has primarily been recruited by defensive line coach [Ed] Orgeron. "We'll see where it goes from there.

"I haven't talked to him in about two weeks, but he says he wanted me to come to the camp," continued Lockett. "The defensive back coach says he wants to see me in person, so we'll see where it goes from there."

Lockett will also be camping at The Opening in Oregon later this month.

Lockett has also taken unofficial visits to Washington and UCLA, and despite being a Southern California native, says location hasn't been a big factor when checking out schools.

"I haven't really thought about it," said Lockett. "I'm just taking my visits now."
