As is the norm during camp season at USC, Tuesday's throwing session was a quick 7on7 before players had to return to bolt in order to help with Rising Stars or take off for classes.
The most memorably play of the day had to be a missed-play... but Marqise Lee. In a very uncharacteristic move by the junior receiver, he stopped for a routine catch only to have the ball sail right between his hands. Safety Dion Bailey was on his tail. Lee immediately dropped to the ground for pushups.
Tailback Buck Allen had a few strong carries. He will be one to keep an eye on going into fall camp to see if this could be he breakout time (or break-in, really).
As quickly as the players-only session started, it ended... as coaches had to enter the facility in preparation for Rising Stars.
On way out of workouts, powering up Trojan walk was freshman Steven Mitchell...in a motorized cart. Yes, the four-star receiver is making his campus debut in a red motorized cart. Mitchell seemed in good spirits and says "It's no big deal, I'll just redshirt now"... he is set to have surgery Friday after he completes summer finals for the first session.
