Simmons describes role on 2013 team

USC linebacker Marquise Simmons discusses his role with the Trojans, as well answers a few Rapid Fire questions.

USC linebacker Marquis Simmons has been rotating through at outside linebacker and special teams during the Trojans' 2013 Fall Camp. Although Simmons has a few different assignments on his plate, he says he defines his role as "just someone who is willing to play."

Fall Camp is going into double digits on Monday, and in the meantime, Simmons has a few things he wants to accomplish.

"I want to completely learn the system," said Simmons. "Just completey getting everything in and just play ball."

The rest of the Trojans have said Simmons is one of the funniest players on the team, and Simmons proved that while answering a few Rapid Fire questions. According to Simmons, however, he brings the humor to help energize his teammates.

"I'll just do something random just to keep the energy going," said Simmons. "I could be something anytime of the day; on the field, off the field, it doesn't matter."
