Di Poalo: "I'm happy to be healthy"

With 21 players missing from USC Fall Camp, offensive lineman Giovanni Di Poalo is grateful to be able to play.

The Trojans held their last regular workout of Fall Camp on Tuesday, however 21 players were not able to practice due to injuries. That number is not including the players who worked out in yellow jerseys. Not among the injured was offensive lineman Giovanni Di Poalo. Di Poalo missed last Fall Camp, and says he his just happy to be around for this season's.

"One of my goals was to make it all the way through," said Di Poalo. "And to make a position for myself, and become an asset to the team. A lot of people have to step up to the plate because people go down, and you never know when it's your shot."

Di Poalo filled in at left guard on Monday, a position he usually plays with the twos. Wednesday is the final scrimmage of the preseason and Di Poalo hopes to prove a few last things to the coaches before the season kicks off.

"Just show them I am a technician," said Di Poalo. "And that I'm an asset to the team."
