USC men's basketball has added yet another transfer to their 2013 squad, and this time he is both an athlete and a scholar.
Center D.J. Haley has decided to wear cardinal and gold after graduating from Virgina Commenwealth in three years. Haley has one more year of eligibility and says he is excited to get started practicing with his new teammates.
A true 7-footer, Haley will add some depth where the Trojans needed it most: at center. Haley will compete with returning starter Omare Oraby for playing time this season, which is a good thing as Oraby found himself in foul trouble quite a bit last season.
Haley describes himself as a "traditional big man," and says fans at the Galen Center can see him contribute on both sides of the ball.
Off the court, Haley received his undergraduate diploma from VCU in mechanical engineering, and will be getting his Masters at USC in applied psychology.
