The Unit Recap: Running Backs

After breaking down them down earlier this week, see how the tailback unit performed against Utah State.

USC did manage to grind out a 17-14 win over Utah State on Saturday, but it was't the prettiest of wins, especially for the Trojan offense.

The young guns Tre Madden and Justin Davis continued to lead the tailback position group against the Aggies. Although veteran backs Silas Redd and D.J. Morgan did suit up for the game, they did not see any play action against Utah State.

The Trojans were able to run the ball well in the first half--one of the predominate reasons they were able to outscore the Aggies. Leading the charge was Tre Madden, who ran for just 93 yards. Yes, "just" 93 yards, as he was seven yards shy of his fourth consecutive 100-yard game.

On the other hand, freshman Davis ran for just 17 yards.

The Trojans are headed to the desert this weekend to take on Arizona State, but before the Trojans face the Sun Devils, both backs say there is a lot to improve upon.
