Kiffin expects Lee, Kessler to be 'fine'

Despite both suffering apparent injuries during Saturday's win over Utah State, USC head coach Lane Kiffin says he expects Marqise Lee and Cody Kessler to play at Arizona State...

USC receiver Marqise Lee left Saturday's game against Utah State for a few plays to be tended to by trainers on the sideline for what looked to be an apparent ankle injury.

He later returned to the game and finished the day with 6 catches for 72 yards. Perhaps what is more memorable however were his drops.

After the game USC head coach Lane Kiffin said Lee was "not even close" to 100%.

Asked about his ailments after the game, Lee said he was okay.

Trojan quarterback Cody Kessler came out to the postgame press conference with ice wrapped around his right hand. Kessler told the media after the game that his hand came in contact during the game with helmets and pads of his opponent. Kessler had x-rays on his hand that came back negative.

"I think you see a difference after that happened in his accuracy and ability to grip the ball," Kiffin explained. "That shows up in the passing game after that happened."

Kessler finished 13-of-27 for 164 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked three times.

Kiffin says he 'anticipates' both Lee and Kessler to be 'fine' for Saturday's game at Arizona State.
